Meokja

Meokja is a craft kit that was created to be educational, cultural, and fun to help keep Korean culture alive throughout generations. With meokja meaning "let's eat" in Korean, children can use food,
a major staple in culture, as a way to learn basic Korean through
the recipe booklet while working on fine motor skills through play.

With a project brief of creating a toy for a younger audience, I sought out to design something that felt close to home. Growing up as a Korean-American, I understand the struggle in keeping languages alive. With this project, I wanted to provide an alternative language learning activity to help keep children engaged.
